This is my Styles and concepts final and my submission for the Society of Illustrators.
The idea behind this is to take a new spin off the Temptation of Eve.
1. 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
This is from John Milton's paradise lost, which is more to where I was going with this:
Dream not of other worlds, the angel Raphael warns Adam in Miltonss Paradise Lost (VIII.175). Eve, however, dreams of another world in which she will gain knowledge and power, a wish that is superficially fulfilled when she succumbs to Satans temptation and eats from the Tree of Knowledge. Awakening in the Garden of Eden as though from a dream, Eve searches for her identity and her place in Paradise. Satan provides Eve with a chance to gain knowledge and to become god-like. As Eve is not an equal companion for Adam, she seeks independence from her husband. Shifting her loyalty away from God and Adam and towards Satan and the Tree of Knowledge, Eve strives to find her identity in the Garden of Eden, gain knowledge and godliness, and obtain independence from her unequal partnership with Adam. "
To further explain this, the tree of knowledge is basically the evolution and de-evolution of man. Where their progressions lead to their downfall in numerous portions of the branches that cannot be re-grown. As for the top, death sits and lurks, waiting to push anyone down from the top should they come seeking the 'way' to immortality.
I hope I at least get IN to SOI ;3; You can't see all the details in such a small rendering.
NOTE: I fixed the colors a bit and changed the anatomy on Eve a bit~
i find this painting hysterical from my own initial analysis/reaction- "Woman are the soul reason behind every single bad thing that has happened in the history of mankind." Yay christian morals.
..Another one that made me say Wow atleast 5 times. The concept is pure genius along with all the long hours of detailed work I see put into it. Very ingenuic, 10/10!
BTW note sarcasm.
on a side note. Shiny apple of doom. that is all.
the amount of details is crazy without being too much, and just...wow dude. awesome work~
fantastic work
